Support for new installation of Affiliates by Username

I’ve purchased, installed, and activated the plugin, set up my affiliate page with this code as instructed, and it’s not generating an affiliate name for my test case. Have I missed something in my setup? Thank you, Amrita

    I see.

The purpose of an affiliate banner is to provide the html snippet to your affiliates. The affiliate needs just to copy the snippet and paste it to his site(s). The result would be to render an image linking to your site with the affiliate id embedded, therefore there is no need to display the username to an affiliate banner. After all, a visitor to your affiliate’s site will see a banner, not a link.
The result of [affiliates_banner] is the preview of the banner, aka how the banner will look like when embedded in a website and the snippet that needs to be used.

    Cheers,
    George

What I meant was, how can I get the username to embed into the banners and the code to embed the affiliate link? The affiliate area shows the username only in the affiliate link… it is still a number in the banner code and the embed code on the affiliate page.

    That’s great Amrita.

Regarding banners, you can add several images to be used as banners under Affiliates > Banners. After that you can render these for your affiliates if you use the shortcode [affiliates_banners id=”the_banner_id“] in your affiliate area page.
This is the basic functionality for banners, but you can see the detailed description in the documentation.

    Cheers,
    George

Next, how do it get it to work with the banners and the code to embed the affiliate link?

    Hi Amrita,

The shortcode syntax you used is correct, but what exactly is the output that you get when you use it in your affiliate area page?
Please make sure to switch to Text editor when editing the page in case any of the characters has been escaped.
Also, make sure that you visited the page containing the shortcode as affiliate otherwise it won’t render anything.

    Kind regards,
    George
