Affiliates is setting the wrong cookie

When setting up and testing new affiliates, sometimes a hit is credited to a different affiliate and a cookie with the wrong ID is set on the browser…

This happens if use the URL link parameter directly, e.g. mydomain.com/?partners=b6d767d2f8ed5d21a44b0e5886680cb9

Or if I use a redirect on top e.g.

mydomain.com/SABATA redirects to
mydomain.com/?partners=32bb90e8976aab5298d5da10fe66f21d

If I disable the “conflicting” affiliate, everything works fine but it’s very odd…

Do you guys have any ideas?

Thanks,

Bruce

    Hi,

The changelog is not public but you can find it in the plugin zip file.

    Cheers,
    George

I wouldn’t recommend downgrading because there is no native support for downgrading in WordPress in general. There are database modifications taking place during an upgrade, which are not reverted when you downgrade.

FYI, on the latest version the issue is already fixed.

    Kind regards,
    George

Thank you for the update George…

btw, is the changelog for the Affiliate Enterprise plugin available publicly anywhere?

I can see it in the zip but not on the site?

ok, I’ve tested versions 3.0.1 and 4.0.4 of Affiliates Enterprise…

3.0.1 always shows the correct affiliate ID in the cookie but 4.0.4 will confuse them and mis-asign them?!?

I need Enterprise for multi-tier support… but can you confirm that this bug is fixed in 4.10 or whatever the latest version is?

    Thanks…

Cool, thanks George, is it possible to downgrade to Affiliates Pro as well/instead of updating Affiliates Enterprise?

    Hi Bruce,

    Thanks for mentioning.

As it seems you are using an outdated copy of Affiliates Enterprise plugin. I would recommend you to renew your license and update to the latest version which will also give you access to support forums for 12 months.

    Kind regards,
    George
