Commission Not Being Paid

Greetings. I have set up Enterprise Affiliate twice now. I set the rates according to instructions. I am using Woocommerce and the integration seems to be installed properly as the affiliate levels show up in the product portion of WC. The program seems to be putting people in the right place in the tiers. All seems to work fine, including generating all notifications. What it does not do is calculate the commissions based on the levels.

I deleted AE and the WC Integration and started over. Same exact problem. Help?

    Thanks for creating the account.

You were missing a rate for the sale, it’s the general rate I mentioned on my examples. I’ve added one for 30% but feel free to use whatever value you choose, simply by editing the record.

Please keep in mind that the way your rates are set at the moment will apply only for the subscription Basic member. If you add further subscriptions, then you should either create rates for each one of these for each level respectively, or you can edit the existing ones and remove the subscription so that they will apply for all subscriptions.

If you have further questions now or once you move your website, please feel free to ask here or in a new post.

    Cheers,
    George

    Hi Warren,

Actually there is no reason to delete and reinstall the plugin. You can send me temp admin access and I will complete the setup for you.
Regarding the 500 error you mentioned, there are many possible reasons but I would recommend you to have a look here and find instructions on how to increase PHP memory on your server. Another possible reason for a 500 error is that you have a syntax error, most possibly functions.php file.

    Kind regards,
    George

    Hi Warren,

There are two basic parts for a proper tiered commission to take place in your system. The first one is the way you have set your rates and the second has to do with the affiliate who is referring a sale. Please read it carefully and if this still won’t help you, then it’s better to have a look at your setup.

Regarding the first one, in order for the tiered commissions to be added properly, there should exist under Affiliates > Rates as many rates as the number of levels you are using in your system. In other words, each level should have its own corresponding rate. Once an affiliate refers a new sale, the affiliate will get a commission, his referrer will get a commission based on the rate set for level 1 etc.

Regarding the second one, a tiered commission will be recorded only if the affiliate referring a new sale has a referring affiliate.

There is an interesting post here, Affiliates Tiers Demystified but I have also provided a few examples below for you to look at.

    Let’s assume that:
A general rate exists at 30%, level 1 rate is 20% and level 2 rate is 10%.
Affiliate Paul has referred affiliate George.
Affiliate George has referred affiliate Adam.

    Examples:
    1) Affiliate George refers a new sale of 100USD.

George will earn a 30% commission, aka 30USD.
Paul is at level 1 so will earn a 20% commission, aka 20USD.
Adam will not earn a commission.

    2) Affiliate Adam refers a new sale of 100USD.

Adam will earn a 30% commission, aka 30USD.
George is at level 1 so will earn a 20% commission, aka 20USD.
Paul is at level 2 so will earn a 10% commission, aka 10USD.

    Kind regards,
    George

Hi George. Thanks for the reply. I actually did pull the article and did a step by step setup according to the plan. It turns out that I had it right the first two times. On my third attempt, I lost the affiliate link in woocommerce Members page. And to top that off, I got a 500 server error when trying to look at the details on a couple of the test entries along with the same 500 server error when trying to look at Direct, which should have not had any issues since Direct is set up by the program. Then I looked at the ranking and it had Direct being sponsored by the THIRD level person, which made no sense to me at all and possibly what is causing my problem.
It seems that there is an issue with WC integration.

The only thing I did differently was to modify functions.php as you suggested for being able to have more decimals in the rates section. I don’t think that should have caused a problem but getting a clean start with that already added at the start seems a good way to go.

My next course of action is to completely strip WC and delete AE and start over. I will reach out again in this same thread if I continue to have issues.

Thanks again for the prompt replies.

Ok. Reinstalled everything and I am right back to the place where there are no commissions being paid.

If you would be so kind as to have a look and tell me what I am missing, I would greatly appreciate it. This is not the final resting place for the site. I am planning to move it to a new home on Monday, if I can get it working.
