error: your answer was incorrect – please try again

Any idea why I might be receiving this error after installation, setup and trying to Register a new account…. registering a new account receives this error and there is no account or confirmation email sent.

    Hey Kenneth,

I don’t think that reCaptcha v2 is deprecated, or I haven’t noticed anything related. Once the site is registered in google here, you can generate your public and private keys.

As it seems the captcha validation on the page you shared comes from All In One WP Security & Firewall plugin. Perhaps there is a setting you can use or a way to exclude specific pages from their validation. If there’s no obvious option for that purpose, then it would be better to also contact their support channel for more information.

    Kind regards,
    George

Well, you are correct sir v2 is not deprecated… it instead was a matter of creating new keys. Everything seems to be working as expected for now. At least enough to proceed and revisit the versions at a later date. I hope itthinx will be doing this as well. v2 really is outdated a bit.
So, now I have a different question for which I will create a new ticket in case you want to make it public.

So, it looks like this reCaptcha v2 addon is deprecated and no longer in use? I had created keys when I first began this project knowing I would use them at a later date that were v2 and they did not work and then logged into my console, created an Enterprise key… but there is only this one key and not a second as the plugin requires.
Any knowledge if I am doing something wrong or if this Addon is just not working anymore?

      UPDATE:
It took some doing , circling back and doing again & again but I was eventually able to create the correct legacy “Site key”, combine it with the “Site ID” and reCaptcha v2, though deprecated and not recommended, began working for my Registration form. However, I am uncertain of how to properly remove the Captcha from the site WordPress registration page found here: https://nanoplanetcbd.com/accounts/. I removed the Registration Page Captcha from the WP Admin / WP Security plugin & still, it’s not working. :/

It just needed a little work…. ok, it took way longer to figure it out than I am accustom too is all. Still not working as expected but I think this is a Security plugin causing my latest issue (after approving the new affiliate user and logging in I get redirected to 127.0.0.1 – I tried clearing the cache for the entire site and browser as well, no luck. I will readdress this tomorrow.
Just FYI, I appreciate every bit of input and help, thank you.

    Thanks for the follow-up Kenneth.

FYI, you can safely use Affiliates reCaptcha on your site. Whenever a new WP version is released, it is common that some plugins won’t have any affect in their functionality, other than this notice. However, I’ll keep a note for this so that we will release an update and avoid showing it. Such a notice can indeed make you wonder if the plugin you’re trying to install is actually compatible.

With Affiliates plugins you can have all three editions installed but only one can be activated. That’s because each of these editions works independently from the others. Regarding the affiliate area page, it is generated the same way and the only difference is that each edition has more features than the previous one. To be more specific when you generate that page, a new page is created and the [affiliates_dashboard] shortcode is added to its content. This shortcode in turn has a different output for each of the plugin editions.

    Kind regards,
    George

FYI – just seeing this notification for the recommended plugin:
“This plugin hasn’t been tested with the latest 3 major releases of WordPress. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress.

    Download
    Affiliates reCAPTCHA”

Thanks for responding George, I appreciate the help here.
I can add that this error was not present before I upgraded to the Enterprise version… but I also uninstalled the original free version I had previously installed and tried to uninstall the Pro version but was unsuccessful… so, Pro stayed in place and I installed Enterprise over the top. Then, went through the settings to be sure nothing changed.
That being said; I was thinking it might be a disconnect between the “Create Affiliate Area” option I did using the Pro version and did NOT do after I upgraded to Enterprise.

Today is my day to address your recommendation of creating a Captcha for this form. This is the most logical answer. I will let you know the result.

    best regards, “K”

    Hi Kenneth,

Welcome to our support forum and many thanks for using our Affiliate marketing tool on your shop.

The message you get error: your answer was incorrect is not an error message generated by Affiliates plugin. Also, judging by the nature of the error and the moment it appears then it is probably related to a captcha third-party plugin you are using to evaluate form submissions.

It would be better if you can exclude the Affiliates registration form from that evaluation and then use Affiliates reCaptcha free addon that uses Google reCaptcha v2.
Once you exclude the registration form from the other tool and complete the setup of Affiliates reCaptcha, you should stop getting that error.

    Kind regards,
    George
